Procedure Conducting an Interview
Being an interviewer, it's your primary duty
to hire the best candidate
for the organization as its play a major and vital role for sustainability of
any organization. For which, you need to prepare the interview process very systematically.
There after next step is to conduct the interview, it is not an easy task as
you need to set standards and judgement candidates within sort of time limit. Before
conducting an interview, you yourself must be cleared with which qualities or
skills you are
looking for, otherwise there is a chance to end up hiring a wrong candidate. As an
interviewer, you need to be enough confident as you are going to set a prospective
future on how hiring activities can lead to organization’s progress.
Communicate Information to Candidate
Communicate right from the interview venue, you need to inform them
well in advance date, time and how long the interview is going to
take place as well as provision of reimbursement which was incurred by the candidates for attending the
interview.
Apart from this, documents which need to be carried along as well as job description
for the post applied for. The candidate should be well known about the company/organisation’s
background. If they are not known, you need to provide them information about
the company/organisation.
Preparation for Interview
Before conducting an interview, make sure a
checklist with your hand what qualities you are looking for in the candidate along with a
list of questionnaires based on which you can able to judge his or her capabilities and
efficiency. You must go through the resume carefully and work experience of the
candidate. There should
be a sum of few generic questions and that should be specific to the job role.
On the interview spot, you may need to alter few questions considering
the background of the candidates.
To know about their hobbies and interests, can look them up on social media and
may ask questions accordingly.
Briefing Company and Profile
Before taking place interview, introduce
yourself to the candidate
and after that you should spend some time briefing the candidate about company's background, what
it is exactly into it, the job description and responsibilities. Candidate should be
well-aware of the company and their job profile details.
Next steps Guide
After each single interview with candidates, let them inform
where and when the next round is to be conducted. If the candidate has to leave
for the day, let them know when you would contact. If you say them would call
within a few days then make sure you should stick on it. Because it’s not justify
to keep the candidates
hanging long time after conducting interview.
Reflect your opinion
During the interview, if you feel there is some
important information which can help in taking decisions, then you must note
down those points. That may be about current CTC, expected CTC, notice period
and other factor if so those are not mentioned in their resume. After
completion of each interview spare some time to evaluate the interview. If you
find them employable or want to look for a better candidate, tell the candidate that result will be declared after
completion of interview.

Conducting an interview is an art and skill, it’s need well-trained
and confident. Anybody can follow the above mentioned steps which will help them
easy to find out and hiring a suitable candidate. As just getting hired is not a dream of
everyone, and few of them do treat attending interviews as a part of self-improvement
process.
