Salary Or Rate Negotiations

In a corporate job, there are some employees receiving a fixed salary and subsequently it has increase in a structural way or by negotiating with the company. On the other hand, freelancers are exactly opposite of it. Freelancer set their own rates and can increase whenever they want.

The only difference is that employees can negotiate their pay hike once in a year subject to they are in a jobs but freelancer can negotiate their rates regularly for client at any times based on the project without limitation.

Accountability

Freelancers thought that they are not accountable to anyone.  But it is perhaps not exactly agreeable with it. Freelancers are always accountable for to client and customers. Of course, no one can ask about the daily working time for doing the jobs or going to checks us on the daily basis, but definitely there is a deadline fixed by the customer or client by which they expects to get their job done from you. If you cross the deadline, you can’t say ‘So Sorry’ I didn’t meet the deadline.

While you may be fully responsible for a single project or in completion within the deadline with working in a freelancing company when something goes wrong regardless of your position. But In a corporate environment, the manager takes the responsibilities for a failed project no matter which of his or her subordinates were the wrong.

Freelancer also has the same problems but it is something different. Instead of colleagues they experienced with their customers because of competitive personalities.

Then what’s the difference?

Though there are so many similarities, are we feeling ourselves into believing that we are better in the position as freelancers? Is it comparatively moving from a full-time job at a company to a freelancing company just by changing in the landscape?

Then the answer will be no. There is a huge difference between a full-time corporate job and a freelance job because of flexibility and control. In a corporate sector you have no flexibility. You can’t start your work as your own wish.

A freelancer can have the control over how much you spend and earn whom you want to work with; accordingly you decide your days, hours to start the work. You can increase your rates, let leave the customers you don’t want to work with, and find more better paying customers. You have the freedom and control to take all these decisions when you freelance, and this is what makes it all worthwhile.
